Hitting High Notes
Our students are loving the sandbox as we enjoy the last few days of summer!
Fall is in the air which means our wacky Ohio weather will start to become unpredictable. The students are soaking up the last few weeks of “no coat” weather on our playground.
The older children enjoy a separate recess.
The children were excited to meet their new music teacher, Miss Beth, who is a graduate student at BGSU. In two weeks, Dr. Cole will begin private piano lessons for Kindergarten and Elementary students.
Our first graders are learning how to exchange with the Montessori math materials!

Time for Celebration
Our newest students continue to thrive in the Montessori environment. We love celebrating their daily successes.
This week our celebration continued with the first birthday of the year! Elementary students at the BGECLC create a timeline with pictures of each year of life. Stella turned 7 and shared her timeline and Cookie Jar Cookies with the class.
The tradition of pizza day Monday continues and our students enjoyed a delicious lunch from Campus Pollyeyes. Yum!
We love supporting local businesses!

Back in the classroom, our new students are learning from their peers and acclimating very well to our community.
The friendship below began when one child said to the other, “My name starts with the same letter as yours. Would you work with me?”

Welcome Back to School!
The classroom was buzzing with excitement this week as we welcomed new and returning students to the 2015-2016 school year. Our Kindergartners have been wonderful role models for the younger children as we review how to learn in a Montessori environment. Rolling rugs, practicing circle time, and exploring the practical life shelves are just the beginning for what is proving to be a wonderful year for both students and teachers.
This is a special year for the BGECLC as our very first elementary students started 1st grade with Miss Laura! Our Lower Elementary students are excited about the new units offered in 1st grade.
The student above is working on addition problems and the student below is reviewing teen numbers.
This summer, Miss Abby began Spanish immersion lessons at lunchtime. We are excited for this program to continue into the school year. Miss Abby has been reviewing basic vocabulary like food names, colors, numbers, and basic phrases.

Welcoming new American Citizens!
We were so honored to be asked to participate in the Naturalization ceremony held at Bowling Green State University. During the ceremony 42 people from countries as widespread as India, Syria, South Korea, and Turkey became American citizens, and the children of BGECLC were invited to hand out flowers to welcome them.
What a wonderful experience for the children, and such an honor for our school to be asked to participate.
